Pathway
A small fragment of the human growth-hormone molecule — the amino acids at positions 176 to 191, the tail end thought to carry the fat-burning activity.
Mechanism
The idea was elegant: isolate the part of growth hormone responsible for fat breakdown while leaving behind the parts that raise IGF-1 and affect blood sugar — the metabolic benefit without the wider hormonal consequences.
Studied for
- Fat breakdown and metabolic rate
- Obesity (its original development target)
- Later repositioned toward osteoarthritis and cartilage repair

Where the evidence stands
One of the few peptides here properly tested in humans — and the result was disappointing. In a Phase 2b trial it did not produce significantly more weight loss than placebo, and development for obesity was discontinued. That is a meaningful negative result, not an absence of data.
Typical protocol
Dosing is individualised and set by your supervising clinician at intake. Published human dosing for this compound is not established; conservative titration and monitoring are part of every protocol.
Contraindications & cautions
Not an approved medicine. Prohibited in competitive sport (WADA). Expectations should be set against the trial outcome. Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Prescribed only after evaluation by your supervising provider, based on your history and bloodwork.
